Grapes

White Grapes photo

The sun hangs low in the clear Autumn sky, as I explore the rows of a vineyard by the lake.

Ten minutes, and the sun will be down! I scramble for each shot, like a thief in a room full of gems.

Matheson Creek Farm (above) is a charming fruit and vegetable stand, which I pass regularly.

The building is of Straw Bale construction, and the owner, Dave Sloan, has lived his whole life on the property.

I appreciated his openness in letting me spend quite a few hours combing the vineyard over several days.

I fell in love with the shapes and colors of so many unusual varieties of table grapes (above and right) that were growing at Matheson Creek Farm.

Dave will have to give me the names again, when I have a pencil and paper.

Single Bunch of White Grapes

I do know that the grapes to the left are Pinot--used to make the Pinot wine.

These grapes grow tightly together on the bunch.

I can say from experience that all the grapes I tried are as
tasty as they look.

Until next time,

Have a great week!
