Ephemera

Raindrops on Water

Reeds Reflected in Water

My grandmother often quoted, with a smile to me, something she heard in a lecture once, many years ago.

"Adam said to Eve, 'Dear, we're living in an age of transition!'."

As a wedding photographer, I learned how to capture moments quickly that would only happen once.

But I didn't realize that as a nature photographer, I would be doing the same, exact thing.

Raindrops on Water with Reeds

Moon over MacIntyre Bluff Reflected in Lake Vasseux

Summer lasts for a few short weeks.

Raindrops on the lake--only a few short seconds.

The moon will rise again, but where will I be?

Photography teaches me every day.

It teaches me to appreciate where I am and what's around me.

And it teaches me to act immediately when I see an image worth capturing.

Scraggly Peach Trees in Autumn

How long will the desert sage bloom?

How long will the peach leaves hang, brightly colored, from the trees?

All I know is that they are here today... and so am I.

Until next time,
Take care,
Todd
