Alpine trees collect snow in early winter, just off the Coquihalla Highway, British Columbia.

For the past couple of weeks, I've been yearning for snow—driving two and a half hours to one location, forty minutes to another—exploring the high, alpine passes.

But, yesterday morning, I woke up to a fresh blanket of snow, right outside my window.

I could hardly contain my excitement, as I prepared to explore the winter wonderland.

Low clouds dissapate after the first snow in the Okanagan Valley, BC.
Blue Mountain Vineyard is covered with snow, near Vaseux Lake and MacIntyre Bluff, British Columbia.

It's funny how less than an inch of white powder makes everything look new, and fresh, and different again.

It's like I just moved here, and am seeing these mountains for the very first time.

Of course, I couldn't resist haunting my favorite perch above the vineyard by the lake.

But, the same scene gave me a whole different feeling than it did last summer and autumn.

Rocks of the Okanagan Valley take on new definition after the first snow storm.
A vineyard in the Okanagan Valley, BC, shows off a fresh layer of snow.

Everywhere, the same rocks were somehow more alive...

And the rows of grapes, in the frozen vineyards, gave new inspiration.

Thanks again to everyone who ordered a calendar last week!

I've now sold 111 calendars. The order will close on Friday at noon, for anyone who still wants to order.

Have a great week!
