The Masonic Temple in Spokane, WA, is adorned with beautifull, Corinthian columns.

I knew I was going to like Spokane as soon as I saw these runners in the park.

A quiet city of about 200,000, Spokane has a downtown that is vibrant and beautiful.

In an age when strip-malls rule the world, I was pleasantly surprised to find a city with a heartbeat.

It was a center for commerce in the mining and railroad days, and its architecture still reflects the wealth that has flowed through the city from that time.

Spokane Falls is located in the middle of Spokane, WA.
An old copper-clad clock in downtown Spokane, WA, is beautifully polished, but it is unable to tell time.

Equally as beautiful as its architecture are the Spokane Falls, near the center of the downtown area.

A hydroelectric plant and irrigation channels siphon-off large amounts of water, but the falls still remain the second largest urban waterfall in the United States.

I was also charmed by so many clocks, apparent everywhere in Spokane.

Though, soon I realized some were just for show, as each one pointed out a different hour!

In the little time I spent there, Spokane gave me a cozy, pleasant feeling.

It is a place where the arts seem to be alive, yet where (according to my waiter) the cost of living is not too high.

Have a great week!
