If you like pure farmland with few trees and lots of rolling hills, Southeastern Washington State is the place to be.
Every inch of this golf course like countryside is covered seamlessly with wheat, lentils or peas. |
A crop duster maneuvers only feet above the fields, constantly adjusting to the rise and fall of the earth.
Back and forth he flies, until the field is covered, and then goes on to work another in the distance.

Green is such a predominant color in this area that I could frame a shot from near to far with no other color showing.
Freshly plowed earth provides the contrast with its rusty brown.
|
And when the light is really low the tractor tracks stand out to show me glimpses of the busy harvest time now past.
The land itself is very quiet with no trees, no cars, and hardly any farmers on a vast amount of land. |

I'm alone with me, and the subtle beauty of this endless sea of earth.
