The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, in Vancouver, BC, is the first full-scale classical garden constructed outside of China.
Stepping into this oasis of peace, I almost forgot the bustling city surrounding me on all sides. |
Modeled after classical scholar's gardens from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) this garden was constructed by a 52 member team from China and took a year to complete.
The incredible details of handcrafted workmanship are apparent in every facet of the garden. |

When care is taken to arrange them, ordinary objects reflect a consciousness that can't be seen, but which is readily apparent in this garden. |
