I'm starting to understand the Eskimo need for 20 words for snow!
We've had so much this year, and each time it falls, the land takes on a slightly different look.
|
This week's snow was of the wetter type (don't ask me for the Eskimo name).
It stuck on tree branches, and on this entry gate to the Inkameep pow-wow grounds.

Low clouds hovered on the mountain tops and sometimes rolled down through the trees.
One ponderosa pine was outlined perfectly against the snowy hills behind it.
|
What's all this snow? I thought it was a desert. In spots, the snow is almost one foot thick.
I don't think the sage brush has seen the likes of this, though I didn't hear a single bush complaining.
It's going to be a good growing year come Spring.
