Spring comes only once a year, but new beginnings can come anytime...

Especially in September!

My school days are long gone but I still feel the excitement in the air as everyone begins another school year.

What will we learn this year? What can we show and tell?

These flowers come from a trip last spring to Butchard Gardens on Vancouver Island.

I had never seen blue poppies like the ones that grow in this amazing garden.

The lily of the valley was another highlight.

I've always wanted to photograph these delicate, fragrant blossoms, and I couldn't wait to make a greeting card from this image.

They were my grandmother's favorite.  She even had a perfume with it's smell.

If we could express ourselves with as much enthusiasm as these flowers seem to do, we would find support from every side.

Gardeners and viewers from around the world come to watch them grow.

What is it that flowers do that's so remarkable?

They simply bloom their hearts out.
