Sometimes it surprises me to think that these old cars are just machines.
How can they sit so silently while we caress them with our eyes?
Do they feel pride? Do they too love the sound their back doors make when shut? Do they enjoy the playful way the wind flows past the glass?
|
Or are these sculpted masterpieces simply cold, hard steel and chrome?
Organic shapes beg me to find the hidden, inner intelligence that expresses them. |
 |
 |
Did these beasts hatch, or were they born and cared for by a mother?
At which stage did their taillights sprout? |
If these cars don't think, how come their expressions seem so real?
What does the world look like from their point of view?

I find no answers, though I listen to a thousand stories from their owners.
But I still think these creatures have some DNA. One of these days I'm sure someone will find it.
In the meantime, enjoy an unframed print of one of these cars on your wall.
Or give the gift of chrome this year in picture form.
