I couldn't help myself from getting on the ground and looking up at the chickens, but you know I paid the price. :)

I've often looked at an animal and wondered what they were thinking or feeling. I usually try to look at their eyes and as Diane said, their body language, but I'm not sure if I'm reading their body language correctly......................:)

Great photos. Love the chicken ones the best, especially the idea of the feet. It's a very different perpective.

Diane - This is where I need help from people like you... I didn't know that was (probably) a Morgan. Sure is a beautiful horse.

It's an interesting question, isn't it? I know animals have feelings like I do. And I know people have feelings like I do too. But then when I really think about it, the world of another is as foreign to me as the farthest galaxy. Just the same, I love to communicate all I can. :)

What wonderful wonderful images Todd. I'm especially taken with that second horse (a Morgan, I believe) and all the shots of the chickens! They're great.

As a lifetime animal lover and guardian, I am one of those who really dislikes when people anthropomorphize pets. That said, I fully and deeply know that animals have feelings and I do look to understand their feelings. The 'trick', if a person dares call it that, is to know and understand each species body language -- that is really the best way to begin to understand their feelings.

I like very much that you ask the question.
